A Successful 2nd Year: Diving Deep! |

GGHH continued to build momentum in 2013, sustaining membership while expanding into new countries and regions of the world.
These achievements are coupled with the successes of existing members in their work on the GGHH Agenda goals.
In 2014 we will focus on strengthening the tools, resources, and support GGHH offers its members. We will also launch our online social collaboration platform, GGHH Connect, making it available to all members.

Last month, GGHH members in Asia and Latin America participated in the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals regional meetings, held in Manila, Philippines and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Argentina | GGHH Member to Replace Hazardous Chemicals |
|
GGHH Founding Member, Rivadavia Hospital, a leading public institution in Buenos Aires, signed an agreement to promote the replacement of hazardous chemicals used in hospitals with safer alternatives.
This agreement, part of HCWH's project with UNEP's SAICM, aims to demonstrate that the replacement of hazardous chemicals commonly used in hospitals is possible. Find out more (in spanish)

Brazil | Healthy Hospitals Seminar a Success |
|
GGHH Founding Member, Healthy Hospitals Project, in a partnership with several healthcare, teaching and research organizations, organized the 6th Annual Healthy Hospitals Seminar. The Seminar was held on 3 and 4 September 2013, at the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital, in Sâo Paulo, Brazil. More than 600 people attended each day.
The HHS 2013 focused on encouraging cooperation between health organizations working on sustainability and included an award ceremony, a poster exposition and 34 national as well as 4 international speakers who discussed the latest developments in waste management, control of hazardous chemicals, reducing the consumption of water and energy, and sustainable procurement, among other related GGHH Agenda issues.
